Poems are elliptical in the literal sense (ek-leipen) in which they leave all the rest outside and are sufficient in themselves. They're not closed in the sense of being closed to the world, but in the sense that there´s nothing beyond the horizon of the poem. They are, in that sense, initiatory. The poem is the microcosm. It exhausts all its possibilities in itself, and, as a result, what does it leave you?

Eles não são fechados no sentido de estarem fechados ao mundo, mas no sentido de que não há nada para além de seus próprios horizontes. Eles são, nesse sentido, iniciatórios. O pema é o microcosmo. Ele exaure todas as próprias possibilidades em si mesmo; e, como resultado, o que ele deixa para você?
